When the rains stopped and the sun broke through, we took a break from working in the garden for a trek to the New York Botanical Garden. Today I will show you the peonies, and later the roses. The peonies are popping! I have three bushes opening in my garden, the early varieties, with more to come. My new tree peony surprised me with a bloom, but look what is happening in the tree peony area adjacent to the Peggy Rockefeller Garden.
The tree peonies have not been easy, for me, to grow in my past gardens. More successful have been the herbaceous peonies. So many to see at NYBG! The varieties were very educational. Tomorrow I will post the roses seen two days. Don’t rush off quite yet to see the peak of the roses, but if you love to see every stage of the rose, you will not be disappointed when I take you there tomorrow!
