Christmas Cometh, What’s under your desk?

Christmas cometh, way too fast, like a Porsche down a straight away – an antique Porsche in my case…ready to sputter to the side of the highway at any moment!  Mary might have felt that way when the birth of her baby was imminent.  “WHAT! there is no room at the inn?  Just pull over at that stable, will you?”

there are moments to slow you down through the race, like birthing a baby or like decorating

Santa Fe Christmas ornaments

the Christmas tree.  Placed one by one, ornaments are like snapshots…December in Santa Fe, NM …

Beloved pets no longer with you,  places you travel to and times cherished there…

Nantucket

Christmas stockings stitched and hung by the fireplace with hopes….

(I sat through many swim meets, football and lacrosse games!  Needlepoint came along!)

Christmas…past and present.  Clementine chose the wing chair to view the stringing of the lights, comfortable with pets from the past. (More needlepoint – many, MANY games and meets!)So the race is on, to get it all done!  Are you enjoying the slow moments?  How much time is spent at your desk in December?  And by the way, what is under your desk?  This is what is under mine.My spaniels give me a thought for the season… It is nice to have your own space, to spread out and revel in your own  luxury, but even  NICER to SHARE!  Get close to someone and SHARE!

Oh yes – years of hockey games and swim meets yielded needlepoint stockings, needlepoint footstool covers and yards of cross stitch. Such lovely memories, really, in every stitch.
What’s under my desk? Dust bunnies!
Merry Christmas, from the Pacific Northwest.

  4. I just left a comment on your newest post but decided to scroll down to see your previous post. I love your doggies. I had a fabulous cocker spaniel who has now passed on but I have such wonderful loving memories that I hold close.
